Spring fare

This month I have mostly been eating... (ok, not mostly, I've had SOME..;-)
nettles, ramsons, Jack-by-the hedge, hawthorn leaves and cleavers. Just taking some leaves from some plants where they're abundant.

Food tastes so much better when it's free too.

Wish I had the confidence to sort one mushroom from another!

I know what you mean.
I'm very nervous about mushrooms and eat very few from 'the wild'. Around now, there's the St Georges mushroom (prob has another name I don't know) which I can identify because it's the only large white mushroom you can find in this month. Later in the year the field mushroom is pretty obvious and my favourite find, the giant puffball is great!
I'm too scared to try anything else but I was impressed when Jaytee from nb Cosmos found and cooked some Chicken-of-the-woods.
