Where do birds go..

..when we cut down the trees?

With BW cutting down so many along the canals, perhaps they could get together with farmers, landowners, local communities, schools and Treesponsibility, to plant thousands of new trees, set further back from the canals?

No, apparently this is the way forward ....

My god that is a regular little estate there. Hope they get on with their neighbours.

Concrete tower blocks next for sparrows.

Why aren't BW et al obliged to plant (at least) one tree for every one they chop down? A simple act of parliament, could be couched in about a dozen words - maybe two dozen words if we were to add that for every metre of hedgerow removed a new metre (at least) must also be planted and cared for, somewhere ...

One new law I'd happily support!

Hi Carol - that's just what I thought! I guess it's fine for swallows and those that nest close together and useless for the more territorial birds who'd just fight (bit like us humans then ;-)

Wot, more laws SHMO?! Not my thing really. I'm trying to grow baby trees in pots on my boat to plant out. So far though, I have only two that have reached 20cm height, another just emerging and 6 totally dormant seeds that will either never grow or are biding their time a little longer!
